CARE
$26.9 Million Bond
On August 9, 2006, the Eastchester Board of Education approved a revised “scope of workâ
€ for new construction and infrastructure repairs at the high school and middle school.

CARE did not support it and pushed a bond within the realistic financial means of this community
that :
    1.  provided immediate repairs to neglected, substandard HS/MS
          infrastructure.
    2.  provided economical modifications to District spaces for Fall 2006
          and beyond.

DO IMMEDIATE INFRASTRUCTURE REPAIRS
-  Repair dilapidated roofs and related damage at HS/MS, Anne Hutchinson and Greenvale.
-  Wasteful, unhealthy overheating in HS/MS must be corrected to be energy-efficient.
-  Repair and upgrade unacceptable HS/MS bathrooms.
-  Replace antiquated HS/MS lockers.
-  Increase necessary parking spaces for parents at HS/MS.
---- Update - This was done with the follow-on bond ----

IMPLEMENT ECONOMICAL SPACE MODIFICATIONS
Create and execute an educationally-sound, space plan for the pressing needs of 2006-07,
2007-08 by :
-  Evaluating course offerings, class sizes and scheduling to maximize space.
-  Moving all/some District offices.
-  Increasing class sizes
-  Moving the 6th grade back to Anne Hutchinson leveraging available space and use cost
effective modulars as was done at Greenvale.
