| Read on to understand how the Teachers' Union operates Many watchdog groups are arguing for greatly increasing the public's awareness regarding union contracts and negotiations applies equally to both sides, [so] it seems like an equitable (if less than sensible) restriction. But it isn't, because the school board is representing the general public. The union is not. Teachers are kept well-informed of the status of negotiations while the public supposedly represented at the table by the board's negotiators is not.
