Disenfranchised Voters
Current polling locations are not convenient or equitable for the majority of voters
- 84% of the community must vote at the the Middle School which has very limited access and parking
- 16% of the community has a polling location in a private residence on Garth Road which is contrary to NY
State Education Law which states voting should take place in schoolhouses
== Why was it changed? For decades we were able to vote at the 3 elementary schools
== Current polling locations for school district votes disenfranchise our community
== SInce limiting voting locations, the average number of voters has dropped 13%
Before another school vote takes place, voting locations must be changed to provide voters with the same
convenient, easily accessible voting locations as the general elections. We need to follow New York State
Education Law by placing voting districts at our 3 elementary schools and not just in a private residence on
